Zoning By-Law Conversion Project
Regional Municipality of Sudbury, Sudbury, Ontario (1996 - 97)

In preparation for the migration to GIS, the Regional Municipality of Sudbury recently undertook a project to convert the whole of the City of Sudbury zoning by-law paper maps to digital maps in AutoCAD version 12 format. To accomplish this task, BLAZE scanned each by-law map (the most current source) then overlaid existing (outdated) digital assessment maps. The existing maps were then updated with the new scanned by-law imagery. To complete this work BLAZE was required to geo-reference and image scale all images to fit the digital base map.
